You can now receive real gifts on Chithi.me
There is something new waiting on your Chithi.me page.
Until now, people could write you a chithi. From today they can send you a real gift as well. A candle, a plush toy, a keychain, a soap set, a board game, a diary. Real things, from small shops here in Bangladesh, delivered to your door.
You do not have to switch anything on. It is already there on your page, under the letter box, for anyone who opens your link.
How you get a gift
- Someone opens your Chithi.me link and picks a gift for you.
- They pay for it, and for the delivery.
- The gift shows up in your mailbox in the app. You have 24 hours to open it.
- You say where you want it delivered. The shop packs it and a courier brings it to you.
If you do not want it, say no and nothing happens. The sender gets their money back for the gift and the delivery.
Your address is yours
You give your address only after you accept, and only the shop that packs your gift sees it. The sender never does.
The sender is private too. We never show you their name, their email or their phone number. They can write a short message on the gift tag, so if they want you to know who they are, that is where they will say it.
What is in the shop
Right now there are more than 30 gifts from five local shops, and more shops are joining. Candles, handmade soap, keychains, toys and games, a diary or two.
Have a look at the shop so you know what your friends can send you. Gifts start at 199 taka.
One thing you need
Gifts are opened in the app, not on the web. If you have not installed Chithi.me yet, get it here. If a gift arrives and you are not there to accept it in 24 hours, it goes back to the sender, and nobody wants that.
Do you make or sell things?
If you have a shop, you can put your products in front of everyone sending chithis. Apply here and we will get back to you.
Tell your people
Share your Chithi.me link the way you always do. The gifts are on the same page as the letters, so there is nothing new to explain.
Thank you for being here. Here is to a fuller mailbox. 💌
